And a chance encounter with an old friend turned out to be just what I needed!
It all started when I went to my high school reunion and bumped into my old friend Jackie.
Jackie had always been the “nice girl” in our friend group…AKA the one who was a little on the plus side and kind of awkward. Whenever we would hang out with a group of guys, she’d be left with the nerdy one.
In fact, I was actually dreading the thought of seeing Jackie again. I felt bad for how we’d treated her back then.
So while I was at the punch bowl, I noticed this woman across from me light up and say, “Oh my goodness! Leanne! It’s been so long!”
For the life of me, I couldn’t recognize who it was. So I just smiled awkwardly and said, “Uh…hi…”
Then she said, “It’s me! Jackie!”
And that’s when my jaw dropped…because this woman looked NOTHING like Jackie!
Not only did she look quite a bit younger than everyone else at the reunion…
…she had on this slim, flattering dress and had the most stunning smile. She seriously looked like a model from a magazine cover!
But the longer I looked, the more I could see the Jackie I remembered.
“Jackie…WOW! You look so incredible! I was actually just thinking about you…and…”
Suddenly, I started to tear up. It was just so strange to see how our roles had reversed. Here I was struggling to find love again and suddenly Jackie was the beautiful one.
As if she read my mind, she pulled me aside and said, “Listen, I’m sure you’re curious about how I did it. Let me show you…”
Then she took me outside and showed a video on her phone that explained everything!
Because it turns out…
